The Goose in the Bathroom

There’s a goose in our bathroom.

Not literally, but a painting of a bent over goose that my wife chose to place there, and I’m not sure why.

It is a nice painting, it fills the space, but seems to me just a bit out of place.

And yet, I have never questioned her choice of decor, and it has been there for perhaps a decade or more.

I just noticed it today, even though I’ve looked at it for years.

What We Choose to Surround Ourselves With

Why do we add paintings, photos, mirrors, plants, pillows, old clay pots and cuckoo clocks to our homes, offices, and places of importance?

Because art and all else adds to the flavor of life, enriches our soul, and speaks to the person who placed it there.

Strategically placed behind me during every broadcast of my weekly show, I have paintings of long since past legendary presidents of the United States, awards and trophies from my fortunate speaking career, and even have a computer as a backdrop with special lighting.

But the most important pieces showcased are photos of my favorite people: my family.

People have asked if my background is real, in a world of AI, it looks fake! But it’s very real, and very me.

Back to the Goose

And so, let’s return to the goose in the bathroom.

It is not an impressive painting, it would likely not qualify for The Louvre.

But it works perfect for our half bath in the hallway by the garage, because my wife chose it.

My wife decorated this little bathroom with love.

And so, it will remain.

And someday, someone will see the goose painting there, and either decide it is useless and toss it, or consider it a keepsake and cherish it.

What You Choose to Fill Your Life With

Knowing full well this is a blog about health, I believe there are people that have no idea why someone would spend money on a nutrition product and make it a part of their daily regimen.

Yet when you find something that fills your body with goodness, be it the world’s finest nitric oxide product in Cardio Miracle, or a photo of your family on the wall, perhaps an ancient clock from your grandparent’s home, you have a choice in your home, your body, your life.

What you choose to fill your life with determines the level of joy you experience.

Even if that means having a goose in the bathroom.
